Newcastle band Safe Hands have been involved in a van accident following shows in Far North Queensland, and are appealing for help.
After a "run-in" with a kangaroo as the band begun the trek home after a string of dates with UK act Rolo Tomassi, both the kangaroo and members are unharmed, but the incident has left the band stranded with some hefty bills to pay.
"Some of you may have heard we had a little run-in with skippy in the very early hours this morning, while he managed to waddle away a little shaken our van was left totaled and we were left stranded in Middle Of Nowhereville, QLD." posted the band on Facebook yesterday.
"Though we had hoped to be almost home by now we won't actually be back in (comparitively) beautiful Newcastle til Wednesday afternoon. After an ordeal that will eventually involve vehicle towing, hire cars, hotel rooms, van excess, flights etc it's all adding up very quickly. Before we go and start selling our fine bodies on the streets of Charters Towers we thought we'd put the call out. Basically if you've ever even considered buying a record or a shirt now is the time to do it. Digital, vinyl, CDs, whatever, buy them for your friends for gifts, hell we'll even take donations at this point. Thanks, friends."
If you want to give the outfit a helping hand, debut album 'Montenegro' is available in digital or physical versions here, while t-shirts are available here.
