Jack White is releasing a new album, Frozen Charlotte, next Friday (10 July), and fans across the globe will have the opportunity to hear it two days before its release—including Australia and New Zealand.

On Wednesday, 8 July, record stores globally, teaming up with White’s record label, Third Man Records, will host “special early-access listening parties.”

According to the label’s Instagram, admission is free, and attendees to the listening parties will be able to access the album early. While stocks last, they’ll also be gifted with party favours and enter the competition to win a signed copy of the album – no purchase necessary, just your presence in the record store.

So, which stores are hosting the events in Australia and New Zealand?

In Australia, the listening parties will be held at record stores along the East Coast, including Melbourne’s Rocksteady Records, Brisbane’s Rocking Horse Records, Sydney’s Red Eye Records, Adelaide’s Clarity Records, and Wollongong’s Music Farmers.

In New Zealand, the events are taking place at Auckland’s Southbound Records, Wellington’s Slowboat Records, Christchurch’s Pennylane Records, and Dunedin’s Relics Music.

You can find the full list of locations for the special early-access listening parties below.

Frozen Charlotte was recorded at Jack White’s Third Man Studio in Nashville, where he was joined by an incredible band including Patrick Keeler on drums, Dominic Davis on bass, and Bobby Emmett on keys.

The new album finds White and friends carrying the raucous, raw, and frenetic energy heard on his critically acclaimed 2024 album, No Name. Frozen Charlotte is home to 13 tracks carrying an “intense rock and roll punch” and White’s blues underpinnings, making for an album perfect for lifetime devotees and newcomers alike.

In November, The White Stripes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with Jack White accepting the honour on behalf of himself and his former bandmate, Meg White.

He made headlines with his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acceptance speech, not only because he read out a poem dedicated to Meg White, but also because he honoured his numerous inspirations who haven’t been inducted into the Hall of Fame. You can read more of his speech here.
