The Original BNS Show returns to Melbourne next month, promising a night of timeless classics you know and love.
Heading to Melbourne’s Festival Hall for a one-night-only event on Saturday, 26 September, the event will be hosted by Sumiran Gunasekera and feature original BNS singers Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman, as well as Ashanthi, Randhir, and Umara.

Ananthaya is an entertainment company founded in Melbourne in 2015. They organise and promote Sri Lankan artists in Australia and New Zealand, providing services such as event promotion and production, as well as international artist tours.
BNS’ Jayakody and Weeraman met while attending the Mary Anne David School of Vocal Music in Colombo. Both were born in Colombo, Sri Lanka and have gone on to become one of the most commercially successful music acts from Sri Lanka in the last two decades.
Since their formation in 1998, the group have amassed more than 50 #1 hit singles, six Platinum-selling mainstream albums, four successful EPs, and contributed to numerous movie soundtracks.
One of the biggest musical acts to come out of the Sri Lankan music scene, BNS are recognised for blending Sinhala, Tamil, and English rap verses in their original songs and introducing Hindi rap verses in their folk-hop remixes. With The Original BNS Show, their impact is further showcased through the contributions of Ashanthi, Randhir, and Umara.
In another notable achievement, BNS became the only Sri Lankan hip-hop act to feature Indian singers, including Hariharan (in the song Yalpaname), Asha Bhosle (Dedunna Sedi), and Sonu Nigam (Aa chale). They’re also the only Sri Lankan group to have released albums under both Sony BMG and Universal Music India.
