Southport’s Nerang Street is scheduled to transform into a vibrant street party on Saturday, 18 July, as the City’s free annual music event, Sundown, returns.
This year, the event is bringing the heat with headliners Pacific Avenue, fresh off the release of their latest album, Lovesick Sentimental, as well as buzzed-about musical acts, Letters to Lions, The Colliflowers, Laurel Hill, Yours to Keep, and HAEL.
Additionally, the team behind the creative platform merge will curate a “Laneway Takeover” from 6 pm to 8 pm, connecting audiences with emerging Australian producers.
And with free entry and the event being open to punters of all ages, there’s no excuse to miss out.
The excitement will begin at 3:30 pm, turning Southport into the location of a full-blown street party, hosting live bands, DJs, street art, hot food, cold drinks, and more.
And, if you don’t want to leave after the sun goes down, Southport’s live music venues will be home to an official after party, which includes presentations by Mr PP’s, Last Night on Earth, and Vinnies.
Sundown is presented by the City of Gold Coast. To find out more about the annual event, click here.
Having been a finalist for the People’s Choice Award for Festival of the Year at this year’s QMusic Awards, the upcoming Sundown arrives with considerable hype behind it—backed by the City’s Acting Mayor Mark Hammel.

“Sundown returns for its third consecutive year with an exciting line-up of local and rising artists for residents and visitors to enjoy,” Hammel said.
He continued, “People love it because it’s more than just live music. There’s street art and a signature installation from SURFACE Festival, who are bringing bold colour and energy to the event for the first time. There’ll also be street eats and cold drinks available to purchase.”
