The SuperjesusSarah McLeod has addressed fan-led incidents at recent The Superjesus shows, writing that “it ain’t cool and people talk.”
The Superjesus performed at the Entrance Leagues Club in Bateau Bay, NSW earlier this month, where there was a punch-up in the audience.
However, that wasn’t the only incident McLeod received messages about, prompting her to share a post saying she was tired of “drunk blokes in the audience acting disrespectfully.”
McLeod’s short video also featured a direct message she received from a fan, who had an uncomfortable experience at a recent show. After sharing that message, the video read: “Just wanted to share this to let you guys know it ain’t cool, and people talk. We’re here to have fun.”
In the caption, McLeod added, “Hey friends and music lovers, rock n roll is fun, and it gets the adrenaline pumping. I get it; it’s addictive, and it can make you crazy. Wild and crazy is cool when we respectfully do it together with everyone’s safety in mind.
“We want fans to be able to come to gigs alone, meet people, dance and experience joy in a safe environment. I wake up to a lot of DM’s from audience members about how [their] night rolled from their perspective. I read as many as I can because I’m interested. Otherwise, how the fuck am I supposed to know what goes on out there?

“I’m over just apologizing for other people. Just think of it as a family…. or friends you haven’t met yet…. we’re all there for the same reasons. Music is healing, gigs are therapy.”
Her message concluded, “Think twice before you make moves that might stay with someone longer than it stays with you. It’s easy, and it’s fun…. I know you’ve got it in you. Thank you to ainslieroses for giving me permission to share this message for the greater good. Big love to you all.”
The Superjesus recently concluded a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their seminal record, Jet Age.
Featuring hits such as Gravity, Secret Agent Man, and Enough To Know, the band honoured the album with a massive national tour. At the shows, they performed the record in its entirety as well as a selection of their greatest hits.
