French artist Petit Biscuit (aka Mehdi Benjelloun) is heading to Australia in September and October for his first headline run in the country in seven years. And, to make the tour even sweeter, the dance music pioneer has launched a competition to find support acts in multiple cities.

The producer, performer, and multi-instrumentalist is performing in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, the Hunter Valley, Sydney, Wollongong, and Perth on his upcoming Australian tour.

However, the competition to find impressive local DJs is only open for shows at Byron Bay’s Arts Factory, Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom, the Gold Coast’s Elsewhere, Sydney’s Manning Bar, Wollongong’s Frisky Flamingos, and Perth’s The Court.

Each city will have one winner chosen to perform on the evening of Petit Biscuit’s shows. Competition entrants must submit their mix and details through a sign-up form we have linked below, and the final winner will be chosen based on creative skill, mix quality, and how well their music suits opening a Petit Biscuit gig.

To boost chances of winning, entrants can tag friends and their city in the comments on Instagram – more tags and comments equal more entries.

Entries are now open and close on Friday, 11 September, at 11:59 pm. Winners will be contacted after submissions close. You can enter the competition here.

Petit Biscuit is recognised for a blend of electronic, indie and melodic dance music, backed by atmospheric production. His tracks have deeply resonated with audiences globally, with high-energy performances continuing the momentum from his successful run of headline shows and festival appearances in France.

His Australian tour comes at a milestone time: Petit Biscuit, now 26, experienced his initial breakout with the single Sunset Lover, released when he was just 15. The song is heading towards one billion streams.

Reflecting on his incredible journey, Benjelloun recently said, “I hope the 15-year-old that made this in his bedroom is still proud of me.”

After he wraps his Australian tour, Petit Biscuit will showcase the next chapter of his prolific career with his new album, Insomnia, scheduled for release on Wednesday, 21 October, through his own label, Écurie.
