Ben Folds To Reunite With Melbourne Symphony Orchestra As Part Of 2027 Orchestral Tour

Ben Folds' love affair with Australia continues as he announces an epic orchestral tour for early 2027.

Ben Folds brought his Ben Folds And A Piano tour to Australia in February and March, and in October, returns for a series of Encore shows, including for this year’s Night At The Barracks.

Now, it’s been confirmed that Folds is coming back to our shores in early 2027, but for an epic orchestral tour that finds him reuniting with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for two nights.

The shows will see Folds reimagining his expansive songbook with the MSO and Principal Guest Conductor Benjamin Northey, performing with the Orchestra for the first time in six years. The evenings are taking place at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Friday, 29 and Saturday, 30 January.

Folds and the MSO have collaborated several times over the last two decades, and for their upcoming reunion, the Rockin’ The Suburbs singer kicks off the MSO’s 2027 season. Tickets will be available from 10 am AEST on Friday, 28 August.

In addition to his shows with the MSO, Folds will perform with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra on 22 and 23 January at Llewellyn Hall, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on 2 and 3 February at the Hordern Pavilion, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra on 6 February at Wrest Point, and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra on 18 and 19 February at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
