Post MalonePost Malone has announced that he will no longer be bringing his BIG ASS World Tour to Australia this year, officially postponing his trek.
News of Posty's tour changes were shared this afternoon in an email sent to ticketholders, and also sees the US rapper-turned-country star announce he will subsequently be cancelling his appearances at the touring Strummingbird festival.
For the festival dates – which take place throughout Ballarat, Newcastle, and the Sunshine Coast this October – Post will instead be replaced by Tyler Childers, Sam Barber, and James Johnston will be on various dates.
The upcoming Australian visit was to see Post returning to Australia for the first time following his sold-out arena dates in 2023 and headline performances at Spilt Milk Festival.
First announced in May, the headline dates – planned for stadiums in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney – were to see Post joined by Don Toliver.
Despite being noted as a postponement, ticketholders have been advised they will be receiving an automatic refund via their original method of payment within the next two to three weeks. No replacement dates have been announced at the current time.
This isn't the first time that Post has been forced to postpone dates in recent months. Earlier this year, he announced he would be pushing back the start date of his US tour, citing a need to finish his upcoming record – the as-yet unreleased double album, The Eternal Buzz.
“I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts,” he told fans at the time. “We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
More recently, speculation arose as to whether Post's Singapore show on September 25th had also been cancelled, after tickets were listed as "Currently Unavailable" on the official Ticketmaster website. However, the Australian tour postponement is also paired with news of his Asian tour dates being postponed as well.
Post Malone’s latest album also marked his debut country record. F-1 Trillion, released in August 2024, topped the Billboard 200 chart and is home to collaborations with the likes of Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, and others.
Last year, he headlined Coachella, and in April of this year, he headlined its country sister event, Stagecoach Festival.
