This is pop music at its most blandly basic.

Four albums in and The Horrors have never sounded more confident in their auditory explorations.

It was his call to the audience to drop the cynicism that holds people back from fully fighting for change, before launching into a boisterous rendition of Waiting For The Great Leap Forwards, that made the set all the more poignant.

Wire deliver the reliable rock show in its oldest form: four men with their instruments, annihilating eardrums and focusing every fibre on projecting noise and contained chaos.

The band has honed the live elements of this record to near perfection, samples and all timed perfectly with a unified energy ever present.

Salute isn't their The Writing's On The Wall moment, but it's getting close.
