Northlane Detail New Album 'Anemoia,' Announce 2026 Australian Tour

Australian metal icons Northlane are back, officially announcing their highly anticipated new album, Anemoia, as well as Australian tour dates, marking their largest national headline tour to date.

Anemoia, the band’s seventh album, is scheduled for release on Friday, 30 October, via the independent company Immortal Music Group – co-founded by Destroy All Lines’ Chris O’Brien and Northlane guitarist Josh Smith. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.

To celebrate the record, Northlane are hitting the road in November with special guests After The Burial (USA), Cenobia and Above, Below.

The tour begins at Perth’s Metro City on Thursday, 5 November. It continues at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Saturday, 7 November, Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Sunday, 8 November, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday, 11 November, Newcastle’s Bar On The Hill on Friday, 13 November, and concludes at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Saturday, 14 November.

Shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane will be licensed to fans of all ages, while the remaining gigs are for punters 18+.

Northlane have also unveiled the new single, CUT_it, a suffocating number that follows the recent release of the track, Evian. The heavy, groovy song captures the unrelenting weight of exhaustion, with menacing vocals delivered by Marcus Bridge.

He explained, “CUT_it is about burnout - the feeling of grinding through things when you’re completely spent, mentally and physically. The imagery is deliberately visceral, painting a picture of that exhaustion rather than analysing it.”

Anemoia was executive produced by Jordan Fish (Poppy, Evanescence) and inspired by a “mind-altering set” from UK producer and DJ Evian Christ. As a result, guitarist and songwriter Jon Deiley wanted to explore how trance could naturally work with guitars and heavy music.

The new record is the long-awaited follow-up to Northlane’s #1 album, Obsidian, released in 2022 and “toys with the concept of feeling nostalgia for a time or place one has never known.”
