Aussie music legend Icehouse will feature on tonight’s episode of Days Like These… With Diesel.
Airing at 8:30pm on ABC TV Plus and ABC iView, the episode will detail the band’s iconic show at Melbourne Showgrounds on February 20, 1988.
As the episode’s synopsis reads, “The band had just come off a marathon 14-month tour. Through the fog of exhaustion, they pulled off a blinder.”
In a trailer for the series, vocalist Iva Davies teased: “It all went kind of horribly wrong, but in the best possible way.”
To celebrate 40 years since the release of their landmark, iconic masterpiece Great Southern Land and Aussie tour in support, Davies recently spoke with The Music about his Psychedelic Furs cover that became part of a contemporary dance score, being amongst Fairlight’s elite “power users”, that time Bowie materialised side stage at an Icehouse gig and sang along to Great Southern Land and more.
