Beyond Entertainment and Bloodlines Music's new live music documentary series Days Like These...With Diesel will premiere tonight (Wednesday the 4th of May) on ABC TV Plus and ABC iView at 8:30pm, with a new episode releasing every week.

The 12 episodes feature a mix of archival footage and interviews to revisit Australia's most iconic concerts and tell the stories behind them. It is hosted and narrated by musician Mark Lizotte, also known as Diesel.

Lizotte chats to the people who were at these seminal shows, from band members, tour managers as well as musicians from other groups in attendance. He explores the reasons that these concerts were such memorable events, showcasing the unique circumstances that led to each of the shows.

In the early episodes, we see Jet play to a hometown audience following an overseas tour, the farewell concert from Hunters & Collectors, the 25th anniversary of Baby Animals, as well as a peak performance from The Angels in Narara.

Also showcased is a show by Diesel on stage with his family, a high energy performance from Rose Tatoo and Jimmy Barnes, who conquered a heart attack and heart surgery, putting on a remarkable show at the Sydney Opera House.

The series truly is a roll call of who's who in Australian music, with interviews from the likes of Rose Tattoo’s Angry Anderson, Icehouse’s Iva Davies, EuroglidersGrace Knight, Troy Cassar-Daley and Baby Animals’ Suze DeMarchi.
