As Katy Perry wrapped up the Melbourne leg of her latest Aussie tour on Saturday night, the pop icon was far from done, heading over to Chapel Street to keep things going with an appearance at Poof Doof.
Hitting up the famed LGBTQIA+ club night at Chasers Nightclub on Saturday, Perry followed in the footsteps of New Zealand musician Lorde and appeared at the venue’s Club Katy tribute night, determined to make it a night to remember.
“You guys raised me,” Perry could be seen telling the audience in footage shared to social media. “I thank you and I love you, you are my chosen family.”
“Because you are my chosen family, a mother must provide for her children,” she continued. “So as a provider, I would like to open the bar for one hour. The drinks are on me, baby!”
As Perry shared her love with the fans and club’s DJ dropped Firework, the eager audience continued to profess their love to the I Kissed A Girl singer.

Perry’s Lifetimes tour made its way down to Australia earlier this month, with seven sold-out dates already taking place throughout Sydney and Melbourne.
Last week, one of Perry’s Sydney shows made headlines after she was joined onstage by a man later identified as Johnson Wen, a “serial prankster” known for posting videos of stage invasions to TikTok under the username @pyjamamann.
“There’s never going to be another show like this, so just enjoy it!” a confused Perry told the crowd during the incident. Wen was later taken to Auburn police station where he was charged with “entering enclosed land and obstructing a person in performance of work or duties.”
He is due to face court next week, having been granted conditional bail ahead of his appearance, while also being slapped with a six month ban from the Sydney Olympic Park precinct.
Perry continues her Australian tour in Brisbane on Tuesday, June 17th.
