A man has been charged by New South Wales police after allegedly invading the stage of Katy Perry’s Sydney concert on Monday night.
Perry, who is currently in the midst of the Australian leg of her Lifetimes Tour, was performing her second Sydney show at the Qudos Bank Arena on June 9th when the incident happened. According to footage of the incident, Perry was in the middle of performing Hot N Cold when an unknown fan could be seen joining her on stage without permission.
Appearing to put his arm around Perry, the musician turned away while the fan continued to dance before the crowd. “There’s never going to be another show like this, so just enjoy it!” Perry told the audience.
Security guards can then be seen taking the man offstage while Perry continues to sing. “What the hell is going on?” she adds to the song.
According to a report from the Sydney Morning Herald, NSW Police shared a statement confirming the man had been arrested and taken to Auburn police station where he was charged with a pair of offences. The first was entering enclosed land, and the other was obstructing a person in performance of work or duties.
The man was granted conditional bail ahead of an appearance at Burwood Local Court on June 23rd, with a six-month ban from the grounds of the Sydney Olympic Park precinct also being put into place.

Perry launched her Australian tour in Sydney last Wednesday before heading down to Melbourne on Friday. She returned to Sydney this week and will continue her tour with another performance at the Qudos Bank Arena this evening. Presumably, security will be watching the stage closely.
