320 artists will perform across 215 venues over 17 nights next month as Great Southern Nights returns to New South Wales.

As this year’s season of Australian Idol draws to a close, The Music has gathered the information you need to know ahead of tonight’s results show.

Other inductees include Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Luther Vandross, Phil Collins, and Wu-Tang Clan, as well as Queen Latifah and Rick Rubin, in separate categories.

American progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria, and Melbourne’s own alt-metal outfit, Thornhill, will open the shows.

"The legacy of INXS lives on. They remain as relevant as ever, continuing to inspire new generations and bring that unmistakable Aussie spirit to fans around the world," said APRA Chair Jenny Morris.

“'Ghost World' is meant to be played live, and I’m bringing this experience to my home, Australia,” says Alison Wonderland.

“That’s what 60 Cycles Around The Sun is all about," says Edwards. "It’s celebrating my longevity in the industry, but also the fact that I’ve gone past my use-by date as an Aboriginal man in this country."
