Iron MaidenIn February, the Rock Hall unveiled the 17 performers eligible to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, and now, the inductees have been announced.
The names were revealed live on-air during a Hall of Fame-themed episode of American Idol on Monday (13 April), with 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Lionel Richie, sharing the news alongside the long-running singing competition’s host, Ryan Seacrest.
The eight performers to be inducted into the Class of 2026 are Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Luther Vandross, Oasis, Phil Collins, Sade, and Wu-Tang Clan.

Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, and Luther Vandross enter the Hall of Fame after their first nominations this year. While Phil Collins is a first-time nominee as a solo artist, he was inducted into the Rock & Hall of Fame with Genesis in 2010.
Iron Maiden, Oasis, and Joy Division/New Order made it into the Hall of Fame in their third year of eligibility, while Sade and Billy Idol received enough votes in their second year of eligibility.

Ahmet Ertegun Award:

This year’s induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, 14 November, in Los Angeles. Following the event, the broadcast will air on ABC in the US and on Disney+ in December, Variety reports.
Iron Maiden will be touring Australia when the induction ceremony takes place. The biggest question, however, is how Liam Gallagher will handle the news.
Upon the announcement that Oasis were nominated for induction in 2024, the frontman wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS.” He also described the institution as “bollocks,” “very fishy,” and “for wankers.”
Earlier this year, he thanked fans for not voting for Oasis in the fan-voted section of the Rock Hall of Fame website.
And, for New Order fans, could the band reunite with their estranged bassist, Peter Hook, for the ceremony? He previously told The Music, “I might not love the members of New Order, but I certainly love the music, and I’m sure they feel the same way.”
