Liam Gallagher has said he’s “SO HAPPY” and thanked fans for not voting for Oasis in the fan vote for this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

Oasis have been nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the third time. They’re joined by first-time nominees INXS, Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Pink, Wu-Tang Clan, Shakira, Melissa Etheridge, Luther Vandross, New Edition, and Lauryn Hill, as well as previously nominated acts Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, New Order and Joy Division (on the ballot together), Mariah Carey, The Black Crowes, and Sade.

In the fan vote, Oasis have racked up just over 100,000 votes, with Phil Collins at the top of the leaderboard with over 300,000 votes.

After the fan account, Oasis World, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the outspoken lead singer “should be pleased to know” that the band is “currently NOWHERE near the TOP of the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame fan vote leaderboard,” Gallagher once again shared his thoughts on the institution.

“I’d like to thank all the people who HAVENT voted for us from the bottom of my HEART this is for you thanks,” he wrote.

He added, “And to all the people who voted for us. SIT DOWN.” In another post, he said he’s “SO HAPPY” with the result.

This isn’t the first time that Gallagher has blasted the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on social media. In 2024, after Oasis were nominated for induction for the first time, Gallagher described the awards as “bollocks” and “very fishy”.

In another post, he wrote, “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS”. Responding to a fan urging other listeners to vote for Oasis in the fan poll, he answered, “Don’t waste your time as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of bollox”.

Replying to another fan who asked him if he genuinely didn’t want Oasis to be inducted, Gallagher wrote that he appreciated the support but “I honestly feel there’s something very fishy about those awards”. After another X user wrote that Oasis deserves the honour, he replied, “Not as much as Mariah she smashed it”.

Gallagher wrote in perhaps the most amusing response, “You know it I don’t need some wank award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat”.

Last year, he posted that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is for “wankers.”
