The Melbourne electronic duo sign with Caroline with a tasty new single.. It's been over a year since we first started listening to/talking about Melbourne electronica duo Alta and their Game Broke Out EP, followed by the incredible video clip/song combo of Wash It Down earlier this year. Now, heading into 2015, the future is looking bright as the duo have announced their signing to the awesome folks over at Caroline, and doing so, dropped a hypnotic new single in Hold Your Fire. It's the first of a few to come moving forward, and has done nothing to quell our excitement for one of our fave Aussie electronic acts - they killed it when they supported Willow Beats at the Northcote Social club a couple of months back. Header Photo: Willow Beats @ Mondo, Perth by Aaron Webber Starting a night of quality Melbourne-based electronica acts, hypnotic trio Yujen graced the stage full of down-tempo melodies and even a sample from Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), the ambient openers ripping through a set that included the impressive single Try It Over. Vocalist Sam Tilley revealing “we showed [Chet Faker] the song and he was searching for someone to sing on it, before just deciding on doing it himself”. With stellar support from brothers Will and Mitch Anderson this is a group to keep an eye on. Alta brought many things to their set; and while an inflatable goon bag was not one of them, somehow a shiny silver bag was still escorted through the crowd as the duo started what was to be a vibrant set. New single and an amazing new clip from Melbourne duo Alta.. Following the release of their sophomore EP Game Broke Out a few months AGO, Melbourne boy-girl duo Alta are back with a new single, Wash It Down, and - to be frank - a fucking awesome video clip accompanying it. The twosome have been having a great year, supporting the likes of Bonobo and garnering some overseas love following appearances at Soundwave in Croatia, along with sideshows sharing the stage with forward-thinkers like Tokimonsta and Jonwayne. Wash It Down isn't so much a change of direction for the duo, rather more of a slinkifying of their sound, with some sexy synth lines paired with throbbing production work from Julius Dowson, combined with the alluring coo's of Hannah Lesser.
