Thy Art Is Murder ProfileAustralian deathcore outfit Thy Art Is Murder are launching into a new era, introducing their new vocalist and announcing a short, intimate run of East Coast tour dates to cap off the year.
Back in February, the band quietly introduced Jerry Grimefeld as their new vocalist at Life’s a Beach Festival, headlined and curated by Polaris, before taking him on the road across Europe.
Grimefeld, known for his hard-hitting brand of hip-hop and formerly of the bands Honest Crooks and Vengeance, approaches his new role with ferocity.
Speaking of joining his idols, he said, “Thy Art Is Murder has influenced me more than any other band in the world.
“Hate sent me down the path I’m on today, so being part of this band now is surreal. I’m blessed to be here, and I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. We’re about to get ignorant with it.”
Grimefeld replaces Tyler Miller of Aversions Crown, who fronted Thy Art Is Murder from September 2023 until the band found their current vocalist.
Along with introducing their new vocalist, Thy Art Is Murder have unleashed the new single, Squeeze, where Grimefeld makes his recorded debut with the group. The song arrives via the band’s guitarist Andy Marsh’s label, Human Warfare.
The track feels like a disorienting journey through a carnival – it’s foreboding, manic, and savage – while showcasing Grimefeld’s vicious performance. It’s just a teaser of what’s to come. Check out the music video below.
The Squeeze tour marks Grimefeld’s first headline run on home soil. The shows take place at Melbourne’s Howler on Thursday, 17 December, followed by Crowbar Sydney on Friday, 18 December, and Crowbar Brisbane on Saturday, 19 December.
Tickets will be available on Thursday, 5 November, at 9 am AEDT. You can find tickets via Thy Art Is Murder’s website.
