As a whole By Your Side is a highly repetitive album filled with disco anthems that would have driven the kids wild 35 years ago, but today is little more than a tribute to the death of the dancehall.

There are a few slower songs in the mix here and there, but they’re still huge in sound, energy and elation. I am thoroughly enjoying playing this album all the time.

f You Leave isn’t a perfect record, but it’s a bold debut album from a haunting and powerful trio who have a very bright, and paradoxically dark, future ahead of them.

Extensive touring has built such a buzz that bar Parkway Drive, Northlane are Australia’s most hyped heavy band. Now, they’ve shouted for all to hear that they’re rapidly becoming one of the best, too.

Their main set only comprised a handful of songs, such was the length of them, and the audience looked surprised it all ended so soon.

This show was everything the die-hards would’ve wanted and the energy feeding back to the band even from the very back rows at The Metro was incredible.

His humour is cheeky and childish and even makes Little giggle like a mischievous boy in-between lines.

There is a clear divide between those who think it is genius, and those who think it is simply unpolished.
