Queens Of The Stone Age Have Launched An Official Fan Complaint Hotline

Fans who leave a complaint are reportedly told that “Someone in our team will respond as soon as we give a fuck.”

It’s the news that fans of Queens Of The Stone Age thought they’d never need, but the legendary stoner rockers have launched their own complaint line, of all things.

Indeed, a new post on their social media account urges fans to "Call the Queens Of The Stone Age complaint hotline and get heard."

According to Consequence, a press release expounds on the concept, noting that the hotline is designed for fans to “air their gripes and grievances, moans and groans, chagrin’, carpin’ and any judgments they wish to pass.”

Noting that “all complaints are reviewed personally,” called are also teased with the fact that there could occasionally be “a live ear at the other end of the line”.

“Sometimes people just need to complain, and Queens of the Stone Age are here to listen,” it notes. "No bitching too big, no whiny too tiny".

According to fans on social media, those who call the hotline are offered two options; to leave a complaint or not leave a complaint.

Those who choose the latter are reminded they must then be having a great day, while those who air their grievances by choosing the former are then then told that “Someone in our team will respond as soon as we give a fuck.”

Fans have also reported that callers are later sent a message allowing them to opt in for messages regarding new music and tour dates, though this could simply be standard marketing practices rather than a hint at new music.

Queens Of The Stone Age last year released their Alive In The Catacombs EP, which saw them become the first band to legally perform live in the Paris Catacombs. A run of stripped back tour dates followed, before they last month accompanied the release of new single Easy Street with the announcement of a batch of Australian tour dates.

Speaking to The Music, guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen explained that the new track is something of a “palate cleanser” before they head into their next era

"Easy Street is – it's in the name – it just feels right,” he explains. “After doing the Catacombs and just relying on acoustic instruments, it's kind of nice to do that once in a while."

However, fans shouldn’t necessarily view Easy Street as the first taste of a new album, however, with Van Leeuwen considering the track a standalone single and noting the band aren’t always sure of what comes next.

"It's funny, but this one just seemed to come out of nowhere and it was great to test it out there on the road,” he notes. There's nothing like being able to play a new song and getting a sense of how people feel about it.

"We're always creating and we make records in a way where there's still stuff left on the table, [or stuff] that's not finished," he adds. "So there's always stuff that we can go back to. But as far as right now, Easy Street kind of feels like where we're at."
