Good Things Festival is only four months away, and with it right there on the horizon, event organisers have issued a scam warning ahead of announcing this year’s line-up.
“Before the announcement hype kicks in — please read this,” a post on the Good Things Festival social media pages reads, shared on Tuesday (4 August).
The post continues, “Fake groups. Fake streams. Fake winners. They’re already out there, and they’re only going to get worse as December gets closer.
“In particular, there is a Facebook Group with over 12K members passing itself off as official by reposting our content - this is a SCAM group and exists to defraud unsuspecting fans with FOMO.”
The festival team then guides punters to a link that helps identify scammers, “stay safe, and find us on our official channels.”
Good Things has advised punters that it “does not” and has “never” operated a Facebook group, and the festival won’t ever be streamed live, so stay away from those fake pages and links.
The festival also advised punters to “Never buy Good Things Festival tickets through social media comments, DMs, or unofficial pages. The closer we get to December, the more rampant this activity becomes.”
Instead, if you need to buy or sell tickets, you can “use the legitimate Good Things reseller platform that offers buyer protection. If a deal looks too good to be true, it is.”
Lastly, Good Things shared how it actually contacts competition winners – it’s never in the comment section of a Facebook page; you will always be contacted privately through the details you provided – and shared all its social media accounts in one handy place, so that you can bookmark the official pages.

Good Things Festival returns to Melbourne on Friday, 4 December, Sydney on Saturday, 5 December, and Brisbane on Sunday, 6 December.

Currently, no venues have been announced; however, both Melbourne and Brisbane have held every event at the Flemington Racecourse and Brisbane Showgrounds, respectively, since its inception.
Sydney, however, shifted locations last year, moving away from Centennial Park after five years to the Sydney Showground instead. Full confirmation of venues is expected to arrive soon.

The 2026 edition of Good Things will be the festival’s seventh edition, having launched in 2018 and occurring annually save for a two-year fallow period in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings.
Last year’s event was a massive affair, headlined by metal idols Tool and featuring alternative veterans Weezer, beloved rock legends Garbage, Machine Head, Refused, and many others.
