For a band’s first headline show south of the equator to be this good, it’s easy to see that fame beckons.

The album probably won’t win over any fans and politically it’s certainly preaching to a well converted choir, but it’s a brilliant example of how to remain active and relevant in punk and, really, it’s just a damn load of fun.

Lanegan and Garwood have found a great working balance for Black Pudding, playing to each other’s strengths in order to produce a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

The LP may divide opinion, but it’s still worth a listen if only to try and pick out where Elton John may have perhaps contributed a fart sound.
