Spiderbait Add Encore Shows To 'Ivy & The Big Apples' 30th Anniversary Tour

Spiderbait just wrapped their epic 'Ivy & the Big Apples' 30th anniversary tour, but they're not done celebrating just yet.

Spiderbait may have just concluded their epic Ivy & the Big Apples 30th anniversary tour, with sold-out shows across the board, but that wasn’t the end of the celebrations.

The iconic rock trio are hitting the stage for four special Encore Shows in October and November, bringing their ferocious show to fans in regional Victoria and Tasmania.

The new shows begin in Victoria, taking place at the Torquay Hotel on Friday, 23 October, Barwon Head Hotel on Saturday, 24 October, and Ballarat’s Civic Hall on Friday, 6 November. Following the Victorian shows, Spiderbait head to Tasmania and perform at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre on Saturday, 7 November.

Spiderbait’s 30th anniversary encore shows will see them perform their iconic 1996 album, Ivy & the Big Apples, in its entirety, as well as extra fan favourites from across their extensive catalogue.

Ivy & the Big Apples marked a significant breakthrough for Spiderbait, not only propelling their music toward a more polished sound but also taking them to new commercial heights. The record debuted at #3 in Australia, went double Platinum, and stayed in the ARIA Charts’ Top 50 for almost a year.

While the singles Calypso and Hot Water & Milk were successful, it was Buy Me A Pony that cemented the band’s legacy, becoming the first Australian song ever to win the triple j Hottest 100. The album also won the Best Alternative Release award at the 1997 ARIA Awards.

In a statement, the band described Ivy & the Big Apples as “Such an important album for us with lots of epic memories.”

In June, Spiderbait were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
