The band blitzed the remainder of their set, with the unfaltering rhythm section locked into the growling guitar lines and full-throttle vocal melodies of the upbeat anthem Standing In The Ocean to close the night.

The band departed quickly but the buzz in the air after such an epic ending was rife and all who were there would surely be considering themselves lucky to have experienced such a wonderful show.

A somewhat laissez-faire performance because of the small turnout, but one that’s fortunately no less enjoyable than usual.

Sticky Fingers are a band with a great show and a knack for writing very catchy tunes. If you do get a chance to see them, you’ll not only have a fun night, but one of their infectious riffs or melodies will bore its way into your head and stay there for a week or so.

By now it seems the girls have well and truly found their groove and, with show closer Through The Clover, they sign off, having delivered a tight performance that belies the tenderness of their youth.

They had a keytar, a guitarist dressed like a Hasidic Jew, aviator shades and a saxophone solo and provided one of the most fun performances this reviewer has seen.

Joe Cope’s gurgling organ-grinding made everything feel like gospel in the best way, and the whole event was a real treat.
