The reunion special certainly drew in a crowd.

Beloved Australian music quiz show Spicks & Specks returned with a bang, with the show bringing in over 900,000 viewers.

The show, hosted by Adam Hills and team captains Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough, made its return last night on ABC after seven years off-air.

The one-off reunion special drew in 905,000 viewers around the country and tied with Seven News for the top spot, making it the highest rating entertainment show of the day.

Speaking with The Music on Friday, Hills shared that he would "happily" bring back the show on a semi-regular basis.

"The interesting thing is going to be, this is the first time Spicks & Specks has ever been to air in a post-Twitter world. Twitter wasn’t a thing in 2011, so I’m expecting a bucketload of tweets saying, ‘Are you guys going to bring it back?’ and probably about the same amount of tweets going, ‘Why is Adam’s hair so grey?’" he laughed.

"But as far as the bringing it back, I mean, on the night, it was so much fun on the night. I said to Alan and Myf, ‘Look, I would happily do this every year for Ausmusic Month,’ maybe even for the whole month. You know, come back and we’d film four episodes and we’d just do a month of Spicks & Specks.

"But I mean, that was just me after the show on the high of doing it. Look, I think Alan and Myf were on a high from doing it as well, so they might have the same thinking as me."

Spicks & Specks wasn't the only big winner for music-themed shows, with Channel Seven's new singing competition All Together Now taking out the fifth spot in the ratings, with 660,000. Hosted by Julia Zemiro, the show debuted in fourth position with 813,000 in early October.

The Spicks & Specks reunion special is available now on ABC's iview and is part of the broadcaster's Ausmusic Month celebrations.
