Trinity St Kilda ProfileFollowing an extensive $2m renovation, Melbourne "destination pub and bar" Trinity St Kilda will reopen its doors on Friday, November 27th.
The new upgrade sees the Brighton Road venue introducing live outdoor music thanks to its new 1am license, along with an expanded food offering, and a capacity for up to 450 people.
“We’re thrilled to be opening in time for summer," says owner Matt Nikakis. "It’s taken a lot of hard work and decision making to get here, and I couldn’t be more grateful to our incredible builders.
"I think what Trinity offers is really unique, and I can’t wait to see what our regulars think of all the new additions."
Nikakis is described as a third-generation hospitality veteran, with Malvern East's Racecourse and Carnegie's Rosstown Hotel also under his belt.
The family approach also continues with the addition of Nikakis' son Nick joining the business. Nick is himself named for his grandfather, who in turn is the namesake of the Australian Hotels Association’s Nikakis Benchmark Award – the most prestigious award in the industry.
The food and drink offerings are the feature of a new menu led by Nikakis Hospitality Executive Chef Ben Forrest, with Forrest leaning into his Irish heritage to offer "elevated Aussie pub classics with a British and Irish influence".
First opened as Trinity St Kilda in 2022 after transforming a 100-year-old church hall into a southside gathering place, Nikakis announced earlier this year that they would be closing their doors to undergo a makeover to turn the local favourite in an appealing, multifaceted location for everyone instead of simply serving as a St Kilda watering hole.
Trinity St Kilda will be officially reopening from 12pm on Friday, November 27th, with opening weekend launching its summer music program, including Duelling Pianos from 8pm on Friday evening, acoustic musicians taking over weekend afternoons as part of Trinity Sounds, and local DJs on the decks on Saturday nights from 8pm.
