The Chats Announce 2026 Australian Tour, Detail New Album

Supermarkets, Kmart, and the like may already be preparing for Christmas, but The Chats have a different festive gift in mind: an expansive tour and a new album.

Five years after Get Fucked, The Chats have announced a 17-date Australian tour and detailed their new album, Half Cut. To celebrate the album and tour announcement, the band have shared the new single, Off It.

They’ll hit intimate venues across the country this November and December, with the album set for release on Friday, 5 March.

The tour begins with two nights at Crowbar Brisbane on Friday, 13 and Saturday, 14 November. It continues with shows in Frankston, Sydney (three shows), Melbourne (three shows), Hobart, Forth, Launceston, Adelaide, and Scarborough. It concludes with two nights at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel on Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 December.

In the five years since Get Fucked, The Chats have toured relentlessly, sharing the stage with Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Hives. And they’ve worked on a new record.

The Chats recorded Half Cut at Maple Sound Studio in Los Angeles with Frenzal Rhomb’s Jay Whalley. The Chats expand their sound on the record without losing their signature Aussie charm, with song titles like Half Arsed and Hanging Shit on the tracklist.

Vocalist Eamon Sandwith explained, “Half Cut is a fun rock and roll record, but it’s maybe a little more open than stuff we’ve written in the past. I definitely hesitate to use the word ‘mature,’ but it’s a bit of a progression, I’d say.”
