Delta GoodremDelta Goodrem fans had a feeling that she’d go far at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and they were right.
After performing her new song, Eclipse, during the second Semi Final, voters made the decision to send the Born To Try hitmaker to the Grand Final in Vienna.
Goodrem’s performance was grand—it featured pyrotechnics and an impressive light show—resulting in her climbing onto a stand built into the grand piano as she sang the song’s final chorus. You can watch the dramatic performance below.
Goodrem’s performance marked the eleventh time that Australia has been represented at Eurovision. Since the release of Eclipse in March, the song topped the Australian AIR Independent Singles Chart.
“Performing on the Eurovision stage is something I feel so deeply in my heart, carrying Australia with me in every note and every moment,” Goodrem said, per ABC.

It was confirmed that Delta Goodrem would represent Australia at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in March.
At the time, she said of the announcement, “I’m so honoured to represent Australia on one of the biggest and most iconic music stages in the world at Eurovision!”
She continued, “As a singer-songwriter, music has been my lifelong passion. I’ve always loved the creativity, individuality, and joy Eurovision brings, connecting and uniting people across the globe through music, the universal language. I can’t wait to arrive in Vienna and make Australia proud.”
Goodrem isn’t the only Australian entertainer spending this week in Vienna: Multi-hyphenate entertainer and global icon Courtney Act is presenting the exclusive commentary of the Eurovision Song Contest on SBS alongside former Australian representative for Eurovision, Voyager vocalist Danny Estrin.
