This year’s edition of Changing Tides Festival has been cancelled, per a cancellation notice sent to attendees today. In even worse news, organisers confirmed that the event “will not be returning in future years.”
“We regret to announce that Changing Tides Festival 2025 has been cancelled and will not be returning in future years,” a statement shared with The Music reads.
The festival’s promoters told punters the decision “has not been made lightly” and followed “careful consideration.”
“While we are truly devastated to bring this chapter to a close, we remain incredibly grateful for the love, excitement, and support the festival has received since its inception,” the statement continues.
“From day one, our goal was to deliver a vibrant and inclusive coastal experience - and thanks to our artists, crew, partners, and audience, we were able to bring that vision to life and create beautiful memories in Kiama.”
Adding that refunds will be processed to the original payment method within five to seven business days, and that no further action is required, the statement concludes:

This year’s Changing Tides Festival was set to take place at the Kiama Showground, NSW, on Saturday, 22 November.
Promoters had locked in an impressive line-up led by international superstar Sam Fender, who’s also touring across the country this November. American pop star Noah Cyrus and fellow Brit, singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone, were also scheduled to perform.
In addition to the international stars, the line-up featured an abundance of Australian talent, including rockers The Rubens and Skegss, the indie stylings of The Rions and MAY-A, The Inspired Unemployed team’s musical foray, the Retired Gentlemen’s League, rising soul singer Boy Soda, up-and-comer Chloe Parché, and the final space for a triple j Unearthed winner.
Changing Tides Festival made its debut in Kiama in December 2023, featuring a line-up that included Spacey Jane, Royal Blood, Dune Rats, G Flip, Peking Duk, and more. The festival returned for its second year last year with a two-day event that starred Hilltop Hoods, Ocean Alley, Tones And I, Lime Cordiale, Mallrat, and others.
