Port Fairy Folk Festival Expands 2027 Line-up With The Waifs, Steph Strings & More

The Port Fairy Folk Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary in March 2027, and Program Director Justin Rudge promises an "amazing event to honour this magnificent milestone."

Another star-studded bunch of acts have been added to the 2027 Port Fairy Folk Festival, further expanding an already impressive bill.

Joining the line-up are international stars, much-loved favourites, and emerging artists from Australia and across the globe.

Acts revealed this week include The Waifs, Minor Gold, Steph Strings, Alice Howe & Freebo, Candice Lorrae, Amaidí, Holly Munro, Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Kyarna, Sam Kelly, Ukulele Death Squad, and more.

The just-announced artists join a line-up that already features Grace Petrie, Sixpence None The Richer, Kutcha Edwards, The Burning Hell, John Butler, Mia Dyson, Mick Thomas' Roving Commission, Tuck Shop Ladies, and many others. Check out the line-up – announced so far – below.

The 2027 edition of the Port Fairy Folk Festival marks its 50th anniversary, welcoming multiple generations of music lovers to its windswept shores over the Labour Day long weekend in Victoria (Friday, 5 to Monday, 8 March 2027).

“The Port Fairy community is working hard to put together an amazing event to honour this magnificent milestone, as well as set us on our path for the next fifty festivals,” said Port Fairy Folk Festival Program Director Justin Rudge.

He continued, “Additions to the line-up include previous Artists of the Year, festival favourites new and old, and performers travelling to our seaside town from all over the world.

“As we enter our final ticketing tier, we encourage all Folkies – whether regular goers or those considering their first visit – to make sure they secure a ticket to what will be a very special moment in Australian music history.”

Tickets to the 2027 Port Fairy Folk Festival are now available. Gates open at 12 pm on Friday, 5 March.

More artists will be revealed ahead of next year’s festival, with organisers hinting that it’s shaping up to be “one of the biggest and most memorable celebrations in the festival’s history.”

Port Fairy Folk Festival Committee President Bruce Leishman shared, “For more than thirty years, I have been involved in the Folkie, and during this time I have seen the festival grow from a little gig on the back of a big red truck in the Botanic Gardens to a large-scale celebration that draws music fans and artists from all over the world.

“Fifty years is such a feat for our seaside village, and we are proud to be a part of this community-led event. We thank our supporters, friends and family and most of all the Port Fairy community for getting behind this great event for fifty years!”
