Alex WarrenAustralia’s wildlife conservation icon, Robert Irwin, made a surprise appearance at Alex Warren’s show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre last night (2 September).
Irwin was invited to join the American singer-songwriter on stage to press the “confetti button” – a tradition at Alex Warren shows in which a fan or famous special guest brings a large button to the stage, leading to an explosion of confetti towards the end of his concerts.
Following his initial appearance on stage, which was met with ecstatic cheers from the audience, Irwin pressed the red button to even more applause. He jumped up and down beside Warren as the singer performed his song, FEVER DREAM.
Before he left the stage, Irwin showed the Ordinary hitmaker – and thousands of fans in the audience – his dancing skills, dropping to the ground and performing the worm.
Irwin has since shared footage of the already iconic moment on his social media accounts, captioning it, “I did the thing!!!!”

Earlier this year, Robert Irwin made a special appearance at the Perth edition of Laneway Festival, when he cameoed during US singer Role Model’s performance for Sally, When the Wine Runs Out, appearing as the song’s titular character.
During his time on stage, Irwin danced with Role Model and, in a move to be repeated this week, did the worm. He said of being the unexpected Sally, “Khaki Sally. Thanks for having me @rolemodel.”
The Laneway Festival account added, “Don’t think we will ever stop replaying this moment @robertirwinphotography @rolemodel.”
Alex Warren’s Finding Family on the Road Australian tour began with a three-night stint at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena last week. Due to extraordinary demand, additional dates were announced for multiple cities.
It continued with two nights at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, followed by three shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (4-6 September), and concludes with sold-out shows at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena (9 September) and Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday, 12 September.
