Exodus guitarist to fill in for Slayer
Gary Holt of enduring Bay Area thrash metal outfit Exodus will join Slayer on their upcoming Australian tour, with the guitarist recently announced as the temporary replacement for Jeff Hanneman.Holt will assume guitar duties for Slayer on their upcoming Soundwave tour dates. The news comes after permanent guitarist Jeff Hanneman was forced to step down from touring duties after suffering a serious arm infection."The band's publicist just announced that Gary Holt of Bay Area thrash legends Exodus would be filling in for Hanneman while he recovers. Holt will immediately join Tom Araya, Kerry King and Dave Lombardo, for their five-date Australian Soundwave Festival tour that begins Feb. 26," AOL's Noisecreep reports.Soundwave begins on February 26th.

I Call Fives and Rust Belt Lights to release split
Two of today’s hardest working pop punk bands, I Call Fives and Rust Belt Lights, have merged together to release a split 7-inch on Broken Rim Records. The split will feature two new songs from each band. Sticking to the bands’ traditional style of song writing, but with a more energetic sound, the new songs have much to offer. The 7-inch will be available on limited colors through the Broken Rim Records webstore. All orders of the record include a free digital download of the songs, which will be emailed to you by the release date.
