More St Vincent More St Vincent

Annie Clark is the epitome of an evolutionary performer.

Under the moniker of St Vincent, she has created a back catalogue that spans more genres than you can count. Her constant ability to transform herself and create something new is simply astounding, and a testament to one of the most prolific artists in the business today.

‏It follows, then, that Daddy’s Home is completely unsurprising in how surprising it is. For the casual observer, a funk-laden album with ‘70s bass riffs and smooth jazz synths would be a far cry from Clark's previous offerings in the world of art-pop and electro-rock. But for anyone who has followed St Vincent throughout her musical journey, it makes perfect sense.

‏Like latter-years Joni Mitchell mixed with the tongue-in-cheek, acerbic tone of Harry Nilsson, Daddy’s Home is as eclectic as it gets for a 2021 release. Of course, it could have only come from St Vincent.
