James Reveal 2026 Australian Tour Dates

James return to Australia for the first time since 2018, highlighting career favourites at each show.

Manchester rockers James are returning to Australia and New Zealand this October, and have today announced a massive tour.

The shows are their first in the region since 2018, and this time, the band will be commemorating their seminal 1993 record, Laid, performing it in its entirety alongside a “career-spanning set featuring greatest hits and deep cuts.”

The tour begins at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Thursday, 8 October. It continues at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Saturday, 10 October, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Sunday, 11 October, and concludes at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, 13 October.

Following their Australian shows, James will head to New Zealand and perform at Auckland’s Civic Theatre on Thursday, 15 October.

Joining James in Australia are British indie rockers Razorlight, returning to the country for the first time in over fifteen years. Like their touring mates, Razorlight are looking back on a life-changing record: their five-times Platinum self-titled album, which celebrates its 20th anniversary.

James formed in Manchester in 1982. Fronted by the enigmatic Tim Booth, the band are renowned for their introspective tunes, musical experimentation, and becoming key figures of the “Madchester” scene.

Known for hits including Sit Down, Getting Away with It (All Messed Up), and Laid, to name a few, James reached their 40th anniversary in 2023. Rather than rest on their laurels or rely on nostalgia, the band released their 18th album, Yummy, in 2024, and hit #1 on the UK Albums Chart—reaching the milestone for the first time.

In August, a documentary about James, Getting Away With It, directed by Chris Atkins (James Blunt: One Brit Wonder, Who Killed the KLF), will arrive. The film debuted at SXSW London earlier this month.
