There was no better way to conclude a glimpse into Coheed & Cambria’s tale of 78 worlds wrapped in a ‘keywork’ of trapped souls.

If you didn’t find something – whether old favourite or new discovery – through the day, you’re a hard marker, or at the wrong day out.

The only real misstep was the decision to have Pluto Jonze as second support, as he played a set that was so awesome that it was seriously in danger of stealing the show from Finn’s outfit before they took the stage.

Overall Adams delivered exactly what everyone wanted - and after so many years he’s well used to that.

The choice to tour together was on point and both boys brought a lighthearted, fun-loving vibe to a night of high-emotion ballads and baked goods.

The girls carried a heavy load to keep the crowd’s attention, with the rest of the band seemingly apathetic about the whole performing thing, lazily stroking their guitars. Uninterested doesn’t equal cool, yo.

He captivated his intimate audience, promised he’d be back soon and left us spellbound with his biggest smile yet.

With Eddie Van Halen’s dive bombing guitar solos and David Lee Roth’s, at times, strained vocals, the band were in amazing form and put on an amazing spectacle that definitively wrapped up day one of what will hopefully be a recurring festival.

Is it too early to start a best of 2013 list? It’s not? Good. Slam this album right in there.
