The very English elements of the play will be less relevant for Sydneysiders, but A Butcher Of Distinction is still a hell of a ride.

Both performers move seamlessly back and forth between dialogue and narration with no hiccups.

Jim Jefferies isn’t scared to go there and his humour will make you think regardless. It’s a beautiful catch with seeing this guy in action. But hey, a laugh and a cringe never hurt anyone.

A note to anyone in the security business: At a Tenacious D gig, there is no such thing as “crowd control”.

As the audience enters an early morning stupor we’re treated to one last number, Wonderful You. Wonderful being a fitting description of what has been a thoroughly memorable evening.

The set was rounded off with probably the night’s biggest drop before Howard made a speedy exit from the stage.

Skipping Girl Vinegar’s dreamy rooftop gig evokes a wholesome feeling; like an idealised family reunion where everyone magically gets along.

As the final song Shake A Tail Feather galloped to a finish, the singers danced offstage in unison. Band leader and drummer Dom D’Leno was fittingly the last to leave the stage, ending a hugely successful outing for the group.
