The National have written a haunting new track that will pull at your heart strings.

The atmosphere (and abundance of fake blood) at the Metro on the evening was far too fun not to warm to – so much so that even the most buttoned-down fuddy duddy would happily join in on the frivolous antics.

Those in attendance leave with a spring in their step and, surprisingly, there is no merch available for this tour.

The boys have certainly blossomed since the ‘90s and the ladies in the audience showed their appreciation with many a scream as well as a rather large bra being thrown 5ive’s way.

Boy & Bear cap their set off perfectly by warning us not to expect an encore.

For the converted that would be an enticing prospect – and they’ll likely bring a few more friends along next time around.
