As a final farewell amidst cheers and applause, Thistlethwayte left us with a grin and a gem - “Keep in touch and we’ll see you on the highway”.

We applaud madly as our heroes (plus one substitute) take their final bows and once again vow to never miss an opportunity to catch this ridiculously entertaining band live.

Given their performance, I wouldn’t be surprised if The Getaway Plan could hammer in a nail with a carrot.

The rest of the set is a good mix of the timeless old with the new, and once the 90-minute show is over nobody can argue that the band didn’t deliver some fine quality meat and potatoes.

It’s shows like this that remind you that music is the best kind of art – the kind that leaves your ears ringing and still wanting more.
