The South Australian Music Awards are calling on all artists, bands, music industry professionals, and music fans to show their love for the state’s booming music scene.
Nominations for this year’s SA Music Awards are now open. Artists and bands can submit nominations for themselves, but if you just love the music coming out of South Australia, you can put forward a nomination for local talent or someone you believe deserves recognition for their work.
This year’s awards will be revealed on Tuesday, 10 November, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, so save the date.
Artists, bands and other members of the local music industry will be nominated across 34 award categories, which are unveiled across two streams: the industry-voted awards, judged by an independent panel of judges, and the People’s Choice awards, voted by the public.
You can check your eligibility and nominate yourself or someone else here.
The SA Music Awards contain major awards, such as Best Song, Best New Artist, Best Group, Best Release (EP/Album), and more, plus industry awards that cover music festivals, photography, venues, artist managers, and other nominations, as well as the People’s Choice awards, which comprise genre-voted winners.
At last year’s SA Music Awards, pop singer Aleksiah and hip-hop group Dem Mob took home four wins apiece in the Major, Industry, and People’s Choice categories.
In addition to Aleksiah and Dem Mob, Oscar The Wild and Ella Ion each claimed two awards.
