JebediahPerth rockers Jebediah will no longer be performing in North Queensland tonight or over the weekend, citing a medical emergency within the band.
They shared the news on social media today, confirming that the tour dates will be moved to a later date, which they’ll announce soon.
The impacted shows were set to take place at McGuire’s Motel in Mackay tonight (21 August), as well as The Warehouse Townsville and The Jack Hotel & Backpackers in Cairns on Saturday (22 August) and Sunday (23 August), respectively.
“We regret to inform our fans that we must postpone this weekend's shows,” Jebediah wrote on social media.
They continued, “The band has experienced a medical emergency that requires immediate attention, making postponement the most prudent course of action.
“All ticket purchasers are entitled to a refund and will be contacted by the agency through which they purchased their tickets. We will advise on new dates as soon as practical.”
The band stated that they “did not take this decision lightly,” adding that they “hate postponing shows” and letting down their loyal fans.
Their statement concluded, “We'll advise as soon as new dates can be organised and look forward to seeing you soon.”
The Music hopes Jebediah’s band members are okay and return to what they love doing soon.
They captioned the post, “North Queensland, we’re sorry to have to cancel these shows but health must come first. We’ll be back to make it up to you very soon.”
Today’s news arrives after a documentary about the band, Jebediah: Are We OK, made its debut at this year’s Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).

The film examines the band’s humble beginnings and tracks the “harder aspects of growing up,” all while following their incredible 30-year journey in music, which isn’t stopping there.
Jebediah: Are We OK? is directed by Arlo Dean Cook and features a wealth of archival footage and home-movie videos spanning the band’s high school beginnings to the present day. Plus, fellow Aussie rockers such as Tim Rogers (You Am I), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), and Janet English (Spiderbait) all speak on their impact.
Described as a “rocking roller-coaster ride and candid cautionary tale about the price of fame,” Jebediah: Are We OK? is a must-watch.
Last year, Jebediah commemorated their 30th anniversary with a national tour and vinyl reissue and revisited the archives with an old-school TV advert for Slightly Odway.
