Australian metal outfit Alpha Wolf have announced that they’ve mutually parted ways with vocalist Lochie Keogh, sharing the shock news on Instagram today (21 August).

At the time of publication, no reason for Keogh’s departure has been revealed. However, the band ask for privacy as they navigate the changes.

As a result of Keogh leaving the band, Alpha Wolf have cancelled their upcoming European headline tour and their remaining 2026 shows. The band are also scheduled to co-headline next year’s Froth & Fury Festival.

The band’s statement reads:

Alpha Wolf have mutually parted ways with long time vocalist, Lochie Keogh.

We are deeply saddened, but remain hopeful for what the future holds.

We ask that you respect Lochie’s privacy, as well as ours during this time.

As a result, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming European headline tour and all remaining shows for 2026 while we work through this transition.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Keogh joined the band in June 2018, after vocalist Aidan Ellaz was ejected due to allegations of sexual misconduct. As of last year, Ellaz was facing court over the allegations.

Recognised for his metallic harsh vocals, Keogh appeared on Alpha Wolf’s albums A Quiet Place to Die (2020) and Half Living Things, released in 2024. He also performed on the EPs Fault (2019), Shh (2023), and The Lost & the Longing, a split EP with Holding Absence.

Half Living Things reached #19 on the ARIA charts, and even featured a wicked, unexpected collaboration with none other than Body Count vocalist (and Law & Order: SVU mainstay) Ice-T.

The band last nationally toured throughout May and June 2025, taking their Terrible Days Across Australia run across the regions. For the run, they were accompanied by UK favourites Malevolence and Brisbane hardcore band Zuko.

Last April, Alpha Wolf uploaded their milestone 2024 concert at Melbourne’s Forum to YouTube. Reviewing the show for The Music, writer Rod Whitfield noted that punters at the band’s headline gig at the renowned venue meant “bore witness to something rather special.”

Whitfield wrote, “This band proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that, just because a band’s sound is raw, stripped-back and punky, doesn’t mean they lack instrumental chops. Every member of this band slays on their instrument, while the whole still more than measures up to the sum of its parts.”
