"Despite the film's brevity, its pace floats by slowly on a balance of honest drama and quirky comedy."

Since the end of the Flight Of The Conchords series, Jermaine Clement has taken on numerous interesting film projects that have shown the breadth of his talent. People, Places, Things is his newest film.

The film follows Will Henry (Jermaine Clement), a graphic artist challenged by life's unpredictability, when his longtime partner Kat (Jessica Williams) leaves him for another man, and must find a way to deal with raising twins, teaching students and new romantic possibilities.

This tiny-budget film, directed by independent filmmaker Jim Strouse, is hard not to like as it's incredibly charming in its intimate focus on universal themes such as modern life, love and family. Despite the film's brevity, its pace floats by slowly on a balance of honest drama and quirky comedy, helped by a solid script, naturalistic direction, good characterisation and a refreshing use of graphic art.

Clement exudes his natural, unique comedic delivery as always but also shows a different side, with a layered depth of dramatic emotion that's both genuine and a pleasure to watch. He's aided by a solid group of actors, including Williams and Regina Hall and some adorable twins.

People, Places, Things is a sweet film that will delight audiences with its humour and impress with its modern take on relationships.
