In October, Caesar unveiled his fourth album, Son of Spergy, which became his third Top 10 album on the Billboard Canadian Albums and first on the Billboard 200.
In a recent interview with Clash Magazine, Caesar explained that the album came from the spirit of reconciliation with his parents and that Spergy is his father’s nickname. Throughout the record, he confronts themes such as masculinity, faith, and self-importance.
Caesar added in a press release, “I have a lot of respect for my dad, and I hold him in high regard. The album is about me realizing [sic] that I am exactly like him. In that sense, it’s about having patience, respect, and admiration for myself.”
The singer-songwriter last toured Australia in November and December 2023, performing at the iconic Sydney Opera House as well as Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl. He made his Australian debut in March 2018.
