Nirvanna, a tribute band for grunge icons Nirvana, just wrapped up their tour of Australia, but it wasn’t all fun and games.
In a video shared on social media, bassist Ryan Salamone revealed that mannequin heads were stolen following their Fremantle show on Saturday (1 August) and, throughout the tour, the band have had to deal with numerous stolen items.
“Australia. Whoever last night in Fremantle stole our mannequin heads, bye, enjoy it,” Salamone began.
He continued, “We’ve never had to be this cautious in our eleven-year history of things gotten stolen from us.
“This has been one after another after another after another of things being stolen from us, so thank you! So, whoever has both of the heads – you didn’t take one, you took both – of the heads, thanks. Hope you enjoy.
“Take a picture and send it to us on a fake burner account. Appreciate ya, see you next time.”
The band captioned the post, “Australia we love you but why the stealing. Why. We work hard for what we do and those heads were very valuable to us. We’ve had those heads for years. It’s been all tour things were stolen from us. Constantly. Bummer.”
In the comment section, they added, “We love Australia and the Aussies but this has been stressful. Maybe because our bands getting more well known and the energy is really getting intense at shows. People want to take a piece with them.
“Hope we can get the heads back. They are very important to us.”

Salamone also had more to say in the comment section. “Ryno here I AM FUCKING FURIOUS !!!!! Not only does this ruin the rest of our tour w the mannequins, they belonged to very special mannequins the rest of the body. Hand painted. Full body. Now there’s no heads.
“Who’s the fucking scumvag there. Who took them off the BACK OF THE STAGE.
“We’re getting security footage AGAIN of yet ANOTHER incident of theft. It’s unreal. I’ve never experienced this ever before. I’m absolutely furious. RETURN THE FUCKIN HEADS U THIEF.”
Nirvanna toured across Australia in July, concluding the run in Fremantle on Saturday.
Described as “the most authentic Nirvana show in the world,” the tribute act returned to Australia to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Nevermind, performing it in full alongside a collection of additional fan favourites. The shows marked their third Australian tour.
