The second 'side' of a conceptual double album, Glasfrosch's latest sees the completion of a two-year effort to release an extended thematic work.
Opening with a twisted lullaby that shifts from a slow piano ballad to a dissonant acid-synth-driven panic midway through its almost ten-minute run, Nocturnes/Ghosts Of Stars, Shadows Of Dust sets the tone for an expansive, dark and unpredictable LP. The sonic nature of this album shifts and warps with the intricacies and blind-surprises of each succeeding track. What remains is the dark and haunting presence deeply ingrained in every track. Nocturnes sounds built for a purpose, without expectations or restrictions, though it's not entirely clear what that purpose is.
