"Those who bore witness to this show will have bragging rights for years to come."
Jeffe doesn't give much away about herself online, but all you need to know is that you should look her up.
Rising to modest notoriety with single Whoever You Love, I'm Cool, a song lamenting the end of a relationship, Jeffe showed she's got more to give in tonight's short set. Mixing old-worldly, velvety vocals with synth loops and pared-back electric guitar, she mesmerised the crowd. A stripped-back guitar and vocal number had us instantly in love, while another track was spinetingling - the girl's got pipes. An upbeat number with synths and beats clinched the deal.
Tonight was G Flip's very first Aussie show, a special moment for her and those of us who "took the risk" to come down witness it (her words). But it was a risk worth taking, as this Melburnian blew it out of the park.
G Flip, also known as Georgia Flipo, has a unique story. What started with her uploading a bedroom-produced single to triple j Unearthed in February this year has resulted in Flipo playing her debut shows at SXSW in Austin. However, despite her newfound solo fame, Flipo is - at heart - a drummer, which showed through in the excellent drum fills that featured in many of her songs this evening and in the percussive quality of her vocals.

Opening solo on her "talking drum kit" (the kick drum has an animated LED face), Flipo's voice and presence instantly commanded our attention. Her band members The Electric Ferntree and Toothpick soon joined her to follow the killer opener with banger Killing My Time, before she introduced us to Je Ro Mo (her drumkit).
The trio took it down a notch to perform an introspective track, before getting us dancing to a really fresh, percussive track.
It's not often you see an act that's this good a mere nine shows into their career and, while the trio had an infectious energy between them, it was clear that Flipo was the star and everyone in the room was 100% buying what she was selling.
A party tune about her drunken escapades got us hyped for the finale, which was the song that landed her here: About You. Singalongs ensued and Flipo was beaming as she stood before us, then returning to the drums to bash out that soon-to-be iconic drum fill and end the set on a literal bang.
You better believe the hype, this is not the last you'll be hearing of Flipo and those who bore witness to this show will have bragging rights for years to come.
