Rather than giving the track his parody treatment, 'Weird Al' and comedian Will Forte performed a faith cover of Chappell Roan's song – complete with dance moves.

‘Weird Al’ Yankovic has subverted expectations with his latest musical appearance, covering Chappell Roan’s Hot To Go! instead of giving it the usual parody treatment.
The performance took place at the annual Thundergong! benefit concert in Kansas City on Saturday night. The event, organised by Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis aims to raise money for the Steps Of Faith Foundation, a charity which looks to help the uninsured and underinsured or need prosthetic care.
Appearing alongside Sudeikis’ former Saturday Night Live co-star Will Forte, Yankovic teased that he was feeling less than 100 per cent, urging Forte to ask, “Would it cheer you up if we sang a song together?”
“You are known for taking current songs and changing the lyrics around,” Forte added, “But what if we sang a song right now that’s current where we didn’t change the song around?”
“Not change the lyrics?” responded Yankovic. “What a novel concept, that’s a great idea. Let’s do it.”
The pair soon dived into a cover of Chappell Roan’s masive hit, complete with the appropriate dance moves, and wholly absent of any of Yankovic’s typical lyrical changes.

The cover took place just weeks after Chappell Roan was in the midst of slight controversy which saw her refusing to endorse the Democratic party leader, Kamala Harris prior to the US election.
Responding to the backlash, the singer clarified her position, before explaining that she was pulling out of some major concerts due to a need to focus on mental health.
“I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform,” Roan wrote in an Instagram story. “Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it.”
She continued, “I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health. I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding. Be back soon xox.”
The singer has since returned to the stage, performing both Pink Pony Club and The Giver on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live.
