Australian Acts Break Six Year Record On ARIA Chart: 'What An Incredible Week'

For the first time since 2014, three Australian albums have taken out the top three placings on the ARIA chart.

Melbourne duo Vika & Linda's Akilotoa (Anthology 1994-2006) has debuted at #1 on the Albums list, followed by Fremantle outfit Spacey Jane's debut effort, Sunlight, at #2 and The McClymonts' Mayhem To Madness at #3.

The last time the feat was achieved was back in August 2014 - Angus & Julia Stone at #1, One Day Crew at #2 and Sticky Fingers at #3.

With their #1 debut, Vika & Linda have also become the first local sister-duo to top the ARIA Albums chart.

"Congratulations to Vika and Linda Bull, who have been enduring and unique voices in Australian music for over 30 years. For a career that has covered so many styles, collaborations and albums, it seems long overdue for them to be rewarded with ARIA #1 album," ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said.

Over on the Singles chart DaBaby's Rockstar has held onto top spot for a fifth week , however Aussie music fans should keep an eye on Sydney-born rapper The Kid Laroi with his track, GO, featuring late US artist Juice WRLD.

The song has debuted on the list at #23 and #3 on the Australian Artist Singles list, only behind Sam Fischer's The City and Tones & I's Dance Monkey
