Ausify, the national campaign to support Australian music, returns for a second year this Ausmusic Month. This time around, the message is simple: Public Displays of Ausify (PDA) – sing the praises of artists you love, and loudly.
Ausify launched the month-long campaign by encouraging music fans nationwide to share their own PDAs. It’s unveiled a video of a karaoke session featuring rising local talent, with seven Australian artists belting out John Paul Young’s Love Is in the Air.
Numerous Australian artists are supporting the Ausify 2026 campaign, including Ben Lee, Fanny Lumsden, Becca Hatch, aleksiah, Budjerah, Georgia Maq, Missy Higgins, Nooky, Ruel, Vv Pete, and many others.
Ben Lee, an ambassador of Ausify, said of the campaign, “Australia produces some of the best music in the world. We punch well above our weight in terms of international success, global influence and underground artists on the forefront of culture. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but there has always been something magical about the music that comes out of this country.
“The Ausify campaign this year isn't about convincing people that Aussie music is incredible - everyone already knows that. This year it’s about being loud and proud about the music we listen to and love.”
Adding that he’s “basically a professional music fan” as he continuously supports homegrown music, Lee continued, “I’m basically a professional music fan in that I can't help myself sharing what I love with everyone around me.
“I’m calling on everyone to join me in showing their love for Australian music in whatever way they like - tell a friend, get a tattoo, annoy people on the bus by blasting your favourite local track. Be loud and proud about the Aussie music that you love!"
The campaign responds to the challenges facing the local music industry. APRA AMCOS’ recent Year in Review report found that the audience for Australian-made music declined to just 8.5% of streaming audio, and by 2030, the figure is expected to fall to 5%.
In 2026, Aussies are streaming local music 31% less than five years ago, while homegrown artists’ share of the 10,000 most-streamed acts in Australia reduced from 12% to 8% between 2021 and 2024. The number of Australian acts on the list fell from 932 to 773.
So, Ausify is here to embolden music fans to support Australian music and share it with people. Punters are encouraged to post about their favourite songs, buy artist merch, and sing along like nobody’s watching.
